Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, national academic societies have actively responded to the call of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), leveraging their organizational strengths and expertise to unite and lead the broad ranks of science and technology workers in actively participating in the people’s war, the overall war, and the battle to contain the pandemic. They have played a vital role in both pandemic prevention and control efforts and the resumption of work and production. As the fourth National Day for Science and Technology Workers approaches, the “Science and Technology Association Reform in Progress” initiative is launching the “Societies’ COVID-19 Response Highlights” series to showcase the outstanding achievements of national academic societies, their staff, and members.
